Aim:  This report provides a background economic assessment which will inform the design and implementation of the Weaver Valley Regional Park.

Scope:  The study is relevant to the Weaver Valley in its entirety, particularly its key towns.

Content:  The study identifies the Weaver Valley as a strong economic performer and a major contributor to the sub-regional economy, but underlines the fact that the area faces several challenges such as the decline in manufacturing, deprivation and ineffective use of environmental assets, all of which the WVRP and its associated projects can help to address.
