Northwich: The Proposals (Masterplan)
Aim: The aim of this study is to explore the opportunities for economic, social and environmental improvement within Northwich and its surroundings.
Scope: The study area comprises the Northwich Conurbation and is focussed on three particular zones (the Weaver Navigation Corridor, Northwich woodlands and Marbury Country Park, and the Salt Route and the Dane Valley).
Content: The report sets out a wish list ranging from footpath improvements to large scale urban restructuring, presenting an illustrated summary of the proposals before considering the practicalities of the various projects.
The proposals are divided amongst three zones of activity (the Weaver Navigation Corridor, Northwich Woodlands and Marbury Country Park and the Salt Route and the Dane Valley. It concentrates particularly on linkages and routes through Northwich and identifies key nodes of interest (e.g. Anderton Boat Lift, Salt Museum, Vale Royal Locks, and Marbury Country Park).
