Nantwich Riverside Masterplan

Aim:  The aim of this masterplan is to create and enhance an integrated green lung for Nantwich to protect and promote urban open space and support the health and well-being of the town’s current and future residents and visitors.

Scope:  The study centres on the Nantwich Riverside, a linear green space in the centre of Nantwich running along the banks of the River Weaver which flows south-north through the centre of Nantwich.

Content:  This Strategic Framework applies a site analysis system called PLUME (Place, Use, Movement, and Experience) Assessment’ to set a framework for the regeneration of Nantwich riverside which meets the following objectives:

• Protecting and enhancing ecological habitats
• Creating and promoting sustainable transport routes
• Providing and improving opportunities for public recreation
• Encouraging interaction and increase understanding of the natural environment
