Weaver Way
|
A new walking route stretching the length of the Weaver Valley, from Frodsham to Audlem, has been launched. The Weaver Way has been created by improving surfacing, as well as by signing existing public footpaths, bridleways and towpaths. The result is a high standard of off-road access to the towns, countryside and visitor facilities within the Weaver Valley.
A wider network of walking, riding and cycling routes, based on the Weaver Way, will connect to public transport and the major road network through a number of gateway sites. Gateways act as arrival and entry points into the Weaver Valley where visitors and local residents can access the area’s facilities.
It will take between six and 10 years to develop the whole network with an estimated cost of £9million expenditure of partnership funding; with phase one of the work (the linear Weaver Way walking route) already completed. |
