Weaverham, A Greener Way

Aim:  This study sets out to assess the feasibility of the concept of a circular route around Weaverham, with possible associated access through existing or new community woodland.

Scope:  The study focuses on the village of Weaverham in the heart of Vale Royal.  The Village is surrounded by agricultural land, woodlands and hedgerows and there is currently a network of footpaths that, if connected, would equate to 30.9km of pathway.

Content:  The Document provides an action plan for the Weaverham trust to take the project through to an implementation stage.  It identifies an existing, largely road-based, circuit around Weaverham, but brings forward the opportunity to extend the circuit by a further 14.6km and explores the opportunity of linking with the Weaver Way.
The study also recommends that overall habitat and conservation value of the parish could be increased by a combination of large habitat creation, extending existing woodland habitats and strengthening and protecting the existing habitat network.
