Public Art in Northwich

An exhibition of concepts, designs, drawings and samples of work. ‘The important industrial town of Northwich is currently undergoing significant change. Its ongoing regeneration has given rise to a number of opportunities to install art in its public areas. Renowned artist, Katayoun Dowlatshahi has been working with the people of Northwich to integrate public art into new and existing schemes. This exhibition examines 3 major commissions which celebrate the architecture and heritage of the town from their conception through development to their final realisation.’

Distant Horizons‘ – exhibition of coastal landscapes by Cheshire artist Chris Howard.

A collection of coastal landscapes which convey the romance and serenity of remembered landscapes with gentle horizons and widening skies. Stand for a moment and allow yourself to become immersed in the memory of a place and time when you felt completely at peace with your surroundings.

Northwich Art Trail 2015

The Northwich Art Trail is now in its fourth year and is again being run by Visual Arts Cheshire.

The Art Trail is an open exhibition but rather than being hosted in one gallery, it is hosted by participating retailers in Northwich town centre with over 50 shops taking part this year.

Dance:ground – creation of  a site-based performance piece at The Lion Salt Works in Northwich, using the historical qualities of this newly renovated site by bringing it to life through movement and theatre.

Cheshire Dance youth performance group and DOPE have teamed up with the Cheshire Young Carers following the receipt of a grant from the Cheshire Community Foundation.  Click the link below to read all about this exciting project and for dates of the performance at The Lion Salt Works.

Northwich Carnival, Verdin Park

The carnival will start with a procession from Albion Road at Sainsbury’s from 1pm, then up through the town to Verdin Park for the crowning of the queen.

Community Fun Day, Vickersway Park

Join in the fun with the whole community at Vickersway Park. There will be all sorts of activities and games including a bouncy castle, fun fair, tractor and trailer rides, face painting, crafts, live music, barbecue and much more for all the family to enjoy.

Loan Objects Wanted for Museum Exhibition

In September 2014, a new exhibition looking at coming of age in the 1950s and 60s will open at Weaver Hall Museum and Workhouse, Northwich.

We’re looking for objects on the themes of growing up, going out, first jobs and loves, leaving home, music, fashion and greater freedoms for women.

If you were a teenager or young adult during this time and would like to see some of the treasured objects from your youth going on display, please get in touch with Lucy Ashdown at the Grosvenor Museum on 01244 972102 or email


Community mini bus service
Cheshire Community Development Trust runs a service suitable for a range of needs on short and medium distance trips.  They already run a range of outings to Knowsley Safari Park, Boundary Mill, Llandudno, Cleveleys, Blackpool, local garden centres and for pub lunches, plus evening outing to Blackpool Illuminations, shows in Crewe and much more.  Schools have also been able to use the service for local extracurricular events.

This is a charity run not for profit but to serve the community.  All the drivers are DBS/CRB checked and fully trained in accessible transport.

Configuration includes;
Eight seated or seven seated plus one wheelchair
Nine seated or seven seated plus one wheelchair
Thirteen seated plus one wheelchair
